A Federated Solarpunk Town planned to be built near Austin, TX.
Hi there. We are building a mostly-car-free town with a federated, contractual, economics-based governance system. We want to build the town you want to live in: a town built for human connection, with neighbors you can trust with your kids, flush with plants and natural beauty, designed to be healthy by default, with the vibrancy of the city and the peace of the countryside.
We believe a walkable town with a dense-core where cars can’t come to every doorstep and yet are only 2 or 3 blocks away is an easy first step towards achieving lots of these goals. Restrictive euclidean zoning has destroyed so much opportunity for human flourishing, we want to use Externality-based Zoning instead. Our federated system of government will have multiple boroughs under a single constitution, each with their own governance structure and policies, so that the dream of laboratories of democracy can be brought to the local level, allowing people to easily vote with their feet.
